In 2015, the organization continues to be motivated by its ideals to support tourism, social responsibility, fashion, and beauty pageantry—a fusion, which differentiates Mutya from other pageants. As such, Filipinas from different parts of the world likewise aspire to be part of the contest every year, with three deserving candidates making it to the official slate.
Christine Stubergh, Aislinn Sebastian, and Nina Robertson, will vie for the titles Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific, Mutya ng Pilipnas Tourism International and Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas Communities.
Mutya ng Scandinavia Christine Stubergh, 19, says, “I want to get closer to my mother’s home country, broaden my bond with the people, and assimilate myself with their culture.” At 19 years old, this huge football fanatic would also like to travel more and explore as many destinations as possible.Meanwhile, Mutya ng Southern California, Aislinn Sebastian, 18, shares, “I want to make a name for myself in the Philippines and to be able to help boost tourism and the community in many different way.
Last but not the least, 18-year-old national aerobics champ and hockey enthusiast Nina Robertson, who is Mutya ng Australia, says, “I believe that Filipinos at heart have something that no other culture has. Their hospitality never fails to treat you like family, which I think is the greatest asset of the Philippines.”
All three candidates also that their visit to the Philippines will help them improve their spoken Filipino, besides immersing themselves in the unique culture.
The Mutya ng Pilipinas grand coronation night will be held on August 2 at Resorts World Manila, while the swimsuit competition will be staged earlier at the Sheridan Beach Resort & Spa in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.Presented by Viva Entertainment, the Mutya National Pageant seeks to compliment the competition’s international campaign for Philippine tourism with the direct participation of the Overseas Filipino Communities from Europe, the US, and other parts of Asia.
The winners of this year’s pageant will further represent the country in two international pageants, namely Miss Asia Pacific International and Miss Tourism International.
