DAY THREE
And here we go with another set of travel photos from my stay at Sheridan Palawan in beautiful Puerto Princesa! I must say, I have heard nothing but good things about this place and I was very fortunate to stay in such a great place. Not only does it have such a beautiful resort but it’s also got an organic farm! Infact, did you know that the Sheridan Organic Farm is the biggest organic farm in all of Palawan and the only one to produce black rice.Plus, 80% of the resort’s food requirements come from the farm. Meaning all its delicious fruits and green vegetables are harvested there. Talk about eating healthy while on vacation!
The Sheridan Organic Farm is open to tours and camping for guests but Lissa and I went on an eco-tour around the farm that ended with a scrumptious lunch made of food straight from the farm. Now that’s farm to table dining! So guys, don’t panic cause it’ll all organic!
During the tour, I asked if we could meet the animals and I was so happy that we got to do so! We fed ostriches and other poultry within the farm and got to meet a few other feathered and furry friends. From hawks, turkeys, chickens, roosters, ducks and peacocks to hedgehogs, wild bores and dogs. I was in animal heaven!
Did you know that this cute little hedgehog is lonely? He’s looking for a mate! So hopefully they get to find a stray female one so they can feed, protect it, give it a nice home and not to mention a cute little hubby.
Twinning with Lissa in lace! I think that the best part of this tour was that I really got to see where all our food was coming from and you could absolutely taste the freshness in every single bite. I must say, Sheridan’s fresh harvests are to-die-for.
I may not show it but I’m a big nature lover (except when it comes to bugs, rodents, reptiles and amphibians) so being in this place was such fun and a great way to spend our morning!
After the Organic Farm Tour, we did a quick little pit stop at the Elephant Mountain which was actually a stop on a couple of Amazing Race franchises. We didn’t go explore the cave but you can definitely do that if you have the time! Thing was, Lissa and I were dying to go on the mangrove tour and zip line already so we headed there as soon as possible.
The next activity was the Mangrove Paddle Grove Tour. This was a quick one but well-worth it of course. It was an educational tour by boat through Sabang’s lush mangrove forest where marine life coexists with other local wildlife and plants. Everything felt so serene and calming. It was amazing to know that this actually exists. You could even bird watch if you woke up early enough! Towards the end of the tour, our guide sang as we ended river tour.
Spot the baby python! I was so sad that we didn’t get to see monkeys but seeing two snakes during the tour was cool enough for me!
At the end of the mangrove tour, we got to plant our own baby mangrove sproutlings. I made sure to take a photo of where I planted mine so when I come back and visit I can see how it looks like when I get back.
I made a doggie friend at the end of the tour. He followed me up the walkway and Lissa even caught me playing with it! Lol
Meet our tour guide! They call her Lady Mangrove and she wrote the song she sang for us at the end of the boat ride.
Up next was the Sabang X Zipline. We had to trek for a couple of minutes to reach the zipline takeoff point. If you’re not a fan of doing a little cardio (like me, sadly), but I somehow sucked it up and made my way while shedding a few calories along the way. The view that awaits you after you zipline across the sea is breathtaking. Just seeing the waves crashing against the huge rocks make everything worth it. Trust me.
I felt like I was flying! It was amazing to get to go on this zipline and just bask in all the awesome-ness below. Did you know that this was an 800-meter zipline? It felt amazing.
The end of the zipline well, line were the Rocks by the Sea. It was a beautiful area so of course Lissa and I made it a point to snap as much photos as we could. Luckily, as we were finishing up the tour guides started calling us to tell us that rain was about to come pouring down. Talk about perfect timing because the moment we got in the car and shut the doors, that was when the rain came down. Phew! At least we finished the itinerary for the entire day earlier than scheduled!
When the rain somehow stopped Lissa and I had to be good bloggers and take another round of photos. Talk about dedication because if you saw my snaps from that afternoon, you’d know that we were freeeeeeeeezing! When the rain stopped, Lissa took advantage of the beach and got to sit back, relax and listen to some music. She had her chips and I had a nice ice cold brewskie with some chips. What a great way to spend our last afternoon in Puerto Princesa.
Another doggie pal who couldn’t stop staring at Lissa! LOL
DAY FOUR
Lissa and I made it a point to wake up early (6am to be exact) to enjoy the pool one last time. So after a light breakfast, we grabbed some fruit shakes and chilled by the pool for a few minutes. When we felt like we needed to get ready for the flight back we had to sadly get out of the pool and have to psych ourselves that it was time to fly back to reality. So happy I got to spend this trip with one of my #BloggerBesties!
You can only imagine how sad I was to be leaving Sheridan behind. This place is absolutely special. I would like to thank the people who work there made the entire experience unforgettable. With that said.. THANK YOU for the hospitality and the superb service. You made saying goodbye to Sheridan and Puerto Princesa so hard. Surely, I will be back with my family, friends and maybe even all my #BloggerBesties!
After a few delays due to traffic at the airport, we were back in Manila. Hope you all enjoyed a little glimpse of my trip to Puerto Princesa and my stay at Sheridan Resort & Spa: Palawan. Till my next travel post!
